...And a Few More Things

Woodpile, chopping block, borrowed axe, stumps to to sit on, and finally, barely visible, a damper for the fireplace. Now for lids and spiles for the sap cans....

  1. This little set-up takes me back many many years to the 70's when I lived on a farm in Maine and we boiled sap from a few of our maple trees. We used an outdoor boiling pan and a "stove" made from a steel barrel cut in half with a stovepipe at one end! We boiled it down to "almost done" and finished the boiling inside..... still huge amounts of moisture were boiled off.... fogging the windows... but with delicious results! Your scene looks Perfect to me! (Except for maybe some muddy footprints in the snow....!)

    1. Marilyn is doing the scenery, so she gets to make the muddy footprints! I live about 1 hr 45 mins drive from Calais, ME , and expect our winter weather patterns are pretty similar! Thanks for saying we're doing it right....
